Abul Kalam Qasmi

Abul Kalam Qasmi was an Indian poet, critic, and scholar of the Urdu language. At Aligarh Muslim University, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Arts. He worked as an editor for Urdu magazines like Aligarh Magazine and Urdu Monthly Inkar(انکار). Additionally, he edited Tehzeeb-ul-Akhlaq. Shairi Ki Tanqeed Book Summary

This book is divided into three parts. The following is a detailed description of each section.

The first part contains the styles of Urdu ghazal. The Urdu ghazal describes all moods and movements in the most descriptive way possible. The ghazals of Amir Khosrow, Wali Deccani, Khawaja Mir Dard, Ghalib, Ibrahim Zauq, and Iqbal have been critically studied and reviewed. In this book, the author describes every Urdu poet’s word in straightforward terms.

The second part of the book contains poems. The review of Urdu poems addresses the general reader in a technical and intellectual way. The merits and demerits of Kalam Mir Anis are described in this section. Mirza Dabir has tested his poem both technically and technically.
