The Urdu novelist, story writer, and translator Aleem Ul Haq Haqi(علیم الحق حقی) were known for his works. Several of his books were excellent and received the appreciation of readers. This novel by Aleem-ul-Haq Haqi takes the reader into the life of a miner who is full of poverty and difficulties. As soon as he regained consciousness, he saw all the people around him working in the mine. The mine is the only source of livelihood in the area which continues to kill people day after day. If a lucky miner survives an ear accident, working in the mine can cause his lungs to fail. The average age in this settlement is around 30 years.
Mines are used to extracting minerals from the earth. You have to dig underground to extract these minerals. This is a dangerous job and there are frequent reports of ear accidents. However, ordinary people like us are not aware of these dangers and difficulties at all or have very limited information, which makes a miner suffer. This particular story about a miner seems to be very interesting to me.
The main character of the novel is Rashid, who is the son of a miner but he is a fast boy. That’s why the owner of the mine sent him to another place to teach engineering. When he returned after completing his education, he started working for the betterment of his area and mine. This benefited the owners as well as the miners of the area. Because of this, he has to face opponents who get him into trouble. The story of his love follows closely behind. At the end of the story, he finds his love and succeeds in defeating his opponents.
